Coming to Mississippi State as a first-generation student was scary at first. I had no idea what to expect and if I would acclimate well. I found a warm and supportive community from Trio and my fellow first gens. Seeing all the fantastic first-gen students around me makes me proud to be a first-gen. I am also eager to prove to myself and others that I can thrive.
