Being a first-generation college student means honoring the sacrifices my family has made for my future. It reminds me every day that I am not on this journey alone. Knowing how much my family believes in me motivates me to push through challenges and continue working toward making them proud.
I am proud to be first generation because I can turn my family’s sacrifices and belief in me into something meaningful through my education. Their support drives my dedication and hard work, and it inspires me to keep moving forward.
One thing I would want other first-generation students to know is that you do not have to figure everything out on your own. College can feel like an entirely new world, but there are people who genuinely want to help you succeed. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it—you are not alone, and you belong here
