I’m very thankful to be a highly engaged freshman at Mississippi State University. I am a proud Promise, TRIO, and BRIDGES Undergraduate Research Program member and I have already been building valuable experiences as a Data Science major. My connection to MSU began in high school through speech and debate competitions, which made choosing Mississippi State a natural next step.
Since enrolling, I have broadened my academic interests and recently presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research, a premier national event that celebrates undergraduate achievement, showcases exemplary research and creative activity, and supports student career readiness development.
As a first-generation college student, I’m very intentional about making the most of every opportunity. I believe growth comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone and asking questions, whether you feel confident or uncertain. One piece of advice that continues to guide me is “Closed mouths don’t get fed.”
